How to stop sharing your house with snakes?

So my girlfriend and I are renting this house, and we found out after the fact that it is apparently full of snakes. In fact, she found out AFTER the lease that it is nicknamed around town as "The Snake House". So since she is deathly afraid of snakes this is a bad thing. We tried mothballs, and I tried putting silicone around the baseboards, of course I only did half of one room with the silicone, but they still showed up. So what can I do to get rid of them, because she moved out to her ex's and refuses to move back until the snakes are gone... Help?
