With a mixed signal on stretching your earlobes with silicone tunnels, who can I believe?

I am trying to go from 3/4" to 1" so I bought some silicone 7/8" tunnels and put them in today. I was at 3/4" for about a year and could pull them out from the tapered side of my tunnels. I have now read that some people have horrible experiences with using silicone and others say it works fine if done properly. I lubricated my ear and the tunnels with jojoba oil and I have been checking them for sticking. they are a bit tender now after 10 hours but I pulled them out and cleaned them and i see no signs of rips or bleeding. should I continue with what I am doing or is there a better way? I have no other 7/8" jewelry available

Well you'll be a very good applicant for both UCLA and UCSD, you'll probably get into UCSD, its a little easier to get into(but really competitive still) and with your stats, I would say you'll get in. UCLA on the other hand is harder to get into but you seem like you could get in, although really with both of these universities your more than qualified although at the same time a lot of other people are too, so it can go either way there no definite here. Although what I can say for sure is that you'll without a doubt get into multiple of the other UCs, and you have a very good shot at UCLA and UCSD. With you SAT, if you can take it again in the fall although depending on the time when your submitting your application, you might not have your scores back/ready because the next test date is October 1st, I would say take it again see how you do,you aren't too far from a 2000.

Should my son accept to be in honor's classes or not ?

I'm 16, going to be a junior next year in AP classes and honestly if the teachers are suggesting him to be in the classes he sure as hell can handle them. Teachers evaluate really well to make sure that whatever class they're recommending for the student will help the student be successful. Honors and AP classes look great on college applications and if he goes through the honors classes and continues into AP junior and senior year you can save a lot of money by taking a test to transfer the AP credits into college credit hours. If you're worried about it, maybe only do 1 or 2 of the classes, but to get recommended for 3 honors classes and not take any of them would be looked at as either foolish or lazy by most teachers and college admission guides.\\edit// AND teachers are always willing to give students help where it's needed. I don't know how hard your son's school is, but usually honors classes are a challenge...but a nice challenge. If his lowest grade is a 94 he should definitely be taking honors classes.

Problems with my own personal confidence. Need advice.?

Most who know me would describe me as the most outgoing and self confident man that they know. And i used to believe that it was true. Everything was good for me till about 2 months ago. Am I screwed for med school???

I just completed my freshman year of undergrad and ended the year with a 2.8 gpa (and an even lower science gpa around 2.4/2.5). I got C+'s in both Gen Chem I and II and a C- in a Honors Biology course which I retook and still only ended up with a B-. I'm usually pretty good at Biology but messed up the class really bad. I'm taking the 2nd Biology class right now along with Physics and have a solid A in Physics and an A- in Biology which I'm hoping to pull up to an A. I plan on taking many science/math courses next year including Organic Chemistry, the next Physics Course, Microbiology, Genetics, and Statistics and will probably take some other science courses next summer. I'm also involved in undergraduate research, vice president of a club, and a volunteer at a local hospital. I also take ballet lessons and have a part time summer job. I know I reallyyy screwed up my freshman year but do I still have a chance? I'm making some good connections with undergraduate research and volunteering for future med school recommendation letters and I plan on taking a lot of biology courses as well as stuff like astronomy, botany, etc. to pull up my science gpa but my question is even if i manage to get a 3.5 science gpa would med schools decline me because of the C+'s I got in Gen Chem and the mistakes i made freshman year? What if I pulled off an A-/B+ in Ochem. Is med school out of the question? I'm a Molecular Biology major and a public health minor (i plan on getting a masters in public health or mha if i don't get into med school)

Well, my only tips would be to make sure you don't go too fast, and make sure you don't keep acrylic in for long. I stretched mine once with acrylic. Acrylic is porous so you can't clean all the sebum that collects on it, out of it, which is disgusting, to be honest. I prefer stainless steel overall. Stainless steel has been perfect for stretching and I've never had any issues with it. Just buy some stainless steel tapers and plugs, and use those.

Enders: The best episode this year?

Thought it was a 4 month build up for a big let down. I thought Ronnie was as boring as she always is, there is no emotion or passion in her acting, she just puts me to sleep and last night was no different. Ear stretching help... am I doing something wrong?

im a freshman, and took three honors courses (the most possible for freshmen) this year and landed with a 4.1 total gpa weighted. i took 5 non honors classes that also get figured into the gpa. the weighting is a+ = 4.33 a = 4.0 a- = 3.67 and so on, and each honors course grade is counted as a full letter grade above what it would be otherwise (example if you got a b it would = 4.0). next year ill be able to take more honors classes so hopefully it will raise, but all of my friends are saying they have like 4.4s and whatnot and acting like its nothing. but i worked really hard and i only have a 4.1? is this bad?

Yeah, I was a bit annoyed at first when they changed the actor who played Ben as I found him quite sulky and childish, but then I realised I didn't really like him before anyway haha. Rubber for molding a pair of boots?

Im going for a paper mache look on a pair of platform boots so I'm making them out of paper mache first and am going to be covering them with layers of liquid rubber/silicon/latex (etc.) and I don't know what kind of rubber I should use to best avoid it sticking to the paper mache, but I also want something that I can apply in thicker coats so I don't have to waist so much time waiting. I recently met my new friend's 12-year-old son, but I seriously thought he was 8 or 9, since he was small for his age. But I noticed that he talks alot and was talking to my husband constantly (and one-sidedly) into the wee hours of the night when we were there. He plays several musical instruments (which he is really good at) and is at the very top in honors in math at his school. He also tends to have a rich vocabulary in his speech. One thing that fascinated me was that he can figure out a rubik's cube in less than a minute! When he plays his instruments he plays one then another and another all within several minutes. He also plays with toys (figurine-type) and makes sounds with them like how a younger kid would. I've noticed that my friend is having a hard time disciplining him, as she would tell him more than once (around 3x) to do something until he finally listens. She'll also tell him constantly not to touch this or that when we all would go on outings. I'm just wondering if these are symptoms of AS or autism? If so, I wish I could somehow help my friend. You'll probably get in...its not that competitive of a school. As long as you live in the state of NC your fine, if your out of state it will be harder for you but theres a chance. Overall you seem to do fine in school and you have a bunch of ECs. You have some honors thats good, and the one AP is good, your ACT score is average, not great but not terrible might want to retake in this fall or not its up to you, you'll most likely get in, in my opinion, but overall no one here can tell you for sure that up to the admission people. So now the only thing you can do is apply, this coming fall.

Is it damaging to straighten my hair to transition instead of cutting it off?

I'm 15 going on 16 and my mom refuses to let me cut my hair anymore than a little trim every 3 or 4 months. She's been relaxing my hair for maybe 4 or 5 years now, but I told her I didn't want them anymore and I stopped getting them the beginning of September 2010. The only part that is bone straight is my edges (which mostly are just the curls now because the relaxed part was damaged & fell off) but the other relaxed part is wavy so it's not that obvious. I've been washing my hair once every two weeks (with Suave) and applying a deep conditioner overnight and moisturizing it (daily) & then straightening it using a heat protectant (with silicone). Since the Silicone protects from heat and moisture I only straighten it once in those two weeks. & Since my mom refuses to cut it I'm stuck with the transitioning hair. Senior year really doesn't matter for admissions; applications are due in the fall before you get any senior year grades yet. If you don't aim high, you can probably get into some lower ranked state schools with a 2.4 and high SAT scores. But nothing much higher than that. Can I get into Boston University with no AP classes?

It is my dream school but I am not sure I can get in. My school is a top public school in my state and has a very rigorous curriculum. I took mostly honors classes and have a 3.7 weighted GPA. I didn't take any AP classes because my teachers or guidance counselor didn't recommend any for me. It was a struggle to get the A's and B's I did get with the honors classes. To give you an idea of how competitive my high school is, even with my grades and GPA I barely made the top 35%. I did get a decent SAT score, 1850. I also made it into the National Honor Society, I have danced competitively with my dance studio for many years and have been a volunteer student teacher in some of the smaller kids classes for a few years. I also play the violin and have been a member of the orchestra all 4 years. I have other various volunteer hours through my church and a teen organization.

Should I drop the AP class?

I'm going to be a freshman in the fall, and now I'm rethinking my class choices. 9th Grader taking 10th grade classes?

When I was in 8th grade, I was offered to take 9th grade classes and get high school credit. I took 8th grade classes in 7th as well and got credit. So, I will be skipping a grade (Technically) in my 4 core classes. Are tenth graders going to make fun of me and not talk to me because I'm younger than them? I have tenth grade honors, actually. You can take any two subject test. Take as many AP classes as you can. It shows that you challenged yourself. Yes, you can get in with A's and B's, but that's no excuse to slack off. Try to get the higest grade possible. AP classes shouldn't cost money, but AP exams do. Yes, do extracurricular activites that you love and holding an office in the club will help. I recommended that you volunteer as soon as possible. Volunteer at somewhere that you like. Because volunteering is a really good thing to do no matter what. Yes you have to take a foreign language at highschool. Unless your highschool is different. No you don't have to go to a private school to get into Harvard. If you want to get in you have to stand out! Everyone applying might be number one in their class or have one million hours of volutenner hours(which isn't a bad thing). Oh and do good and the admissions essay. I'm sorry I couldn't answer all of your questions, but i'm kind of in the same boat. But I hope this helped a little.

I knew a guy since 5th grade. We hated eachother from Day 1. He thot I talked too much, & he used to insult me often by calling me a stalker & telling me to shut up & go away. He actually said I should get 1 in 6th grade (when I hated him) and I did and one day he messages me about my wall post and I hadn't even told him I got an FB. Then he sent me a request after messaging a bit, saying to accept becuz chatting is easie than mssgin. I accepted. In summer my FB got disabled for no reason. I friend requested everyone again, and he denied then after a few months blocked me. Also, when I asked him how he found out about my FB he said he saw on his newsfeed that 1 of my friends had friended me & he clicked on my name cuz he was bored. Turns out my friend had never friended him, so both of us weren't mutual friends of his, & I had 4 friends, so I couldn't have been on his newsfeed. My friends say he's a jerk, but I rlly lyk him. Even when I'm nice to him, he's sorta mean. But occaisonally we would get along. We would argue a lot though, and he thought I was stupid even though I have the same honors/GATE classes as him and almost beat him in many competitions. Also, mention high school sports, clubs, or any other activities that you take part in outside of school. Depending of what this is for, you should include GPA and other information that gives them an academic perspective of you. Overall, the layout is organized and well structured.
